In 1991, Bill Younger brought a dream to life and created Harbour Lights, the frontrunner of quality lighthouse collectibles in America. Originally 17 limited editions of lighthouses were offered, chosen from the best beloved guardians of the American coast. Today the collection has grown from 17 to over seventy collectibles that show us the true beauty of lighthouses from America and Canada to Europe and Australia.
Many people enjoy the variety and beauty of the International Harbour Lights lighthouse collectibles. In these limited edition you can find such beautiful lighthouses as Spain's La Coruna Lighthouse, or Australia's Saint David's. You can even find historical lighthouses such as the vanished Grecian Colossus of Rhodes, the Pharaoh's Lighthouse of Alexandria, and the Mahota Pagoda Lighthouse, built in 874 AD.
The Fresnel Lens collection though not strictly lighthouses, but lighthouse collectibles all the same. These lenses were the state of the art in the late 19th century, and were used in many lighthouses to help guide ships to safety. And now, with Harbour Lights, you can have one of these lights for your own house, to sit on a table or a mantel, or even in a window to guide you and your family home through the dark.
With the Anchor Bay collection, Harbour Lights has brought to life replicas of the ships that relied upon these lighthouses for safety. Look at the intricate detail of these boats, from tugboats to yachts, patrol boats, lightships, and even the USCG Barque Eagle, the only square rigger still in active service.
For the holidays Harbor Lights has brought out festive Christmas lighthouse collectibles showing some of your favorite lighthouses decked out for the season. Painted in reds and whites and covered with snow - some even sporting Christmas decorations - what better gift to give the lighthouse lover in your family?
Lighthouse collectibles are more than just pieces of art for a family to enjoy, they are a part of history, preserving not only the beauty and elegance of these lighthouses, but of the men and women who risked their lives to keep those lights lit and those ships safe.
